Course Overview

The Faculty of Health Sciences at Bahçeşehir Cyprus University (BAU Cyprus) is dedicated to cultivating professionals equipped to meet the evolving demands of the global healthcare sector. The faculty offers a comprehensive Nursing (TR-ENG) program, designed to provide students with a robust foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for delivering high-quality patient care.

Nursing (TR-ENG) Program:

This program aims to train students as leaders in nursing and healthcare, adhering to universal standards. The curriculum encompasses a broad spectrum of subjects, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to address diverse healthcare needs. Key components of the program include:

• Holistic Patient Care: Emphasizes understanding individuals across anatomical, physiological, psychological, social, and intellectual dimensions.

• Evidence-Based Practice: Encourages the application of scientific data and research findings to inform clinical decisions.

• Lifelong Learning: Instills the habit of continuous education and professional development.

• Diverse Career Opportunities: Prepares graduates for roles in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, community health organizations, and academic institutions.

The program’s curriculum is structured to integrate basic sciences in the initial years, followed by advanced nursing courses and practical training in subsequent years. This approach ensures that students acquire both the foundational knowledge and specialized skills necessary for effective nursing practice.

Practical Training and Clinical Experience:

BAU Cyprus places significant emphasis on practical training, recognizing its crucial role in nursing education. In the summer semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, nursing students participated in their first clinical training at the Elite Research and Surgical Hospital. This experience allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, focusing on pre- and post-operative patient care, surgical patient management, and operating room protocols. Such hands-on experiences are integral to developing competent and confident nursing professionals.

Master of Healthcare Institutions Management Program:

In addition to the undergraduate nursing program, the Faculty of Health Sciences offers a Master of Healthcare Institutions Management program, available with or without a thesis option. This graduate program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to effectively manage healthcare organizations. The curriculum covers a wide array of subjects, including healthcare policy, finance, strategic planning, and leadership. Practical experiences, such as internships and projects, provide students with real-world insights and problem-solving abilities. Graduates are prepared for various roles, including healthcare administrator, hospital executive, healthcare consultant, and health policy analyst.

Commitment to Excellence:

The Faculty of Health Sciences at BAU Cyprus is committed to providing an education that balances theoretical instruction with practical application. By fostering an environment that encourages research, critical thinking, and ethical practice, the faculty aims to produce healthcare professionals who are not only skilled but also compassionate and responsive to the needs of individuals and communities.
