Program Overview:
The Medicine program at EMU is designed to develop highly competent and ethical physicians through a combination of scientific foundation, clinical training, and research exposure. It’s delivered in collaboration with Marmara University (Turkey), providing students a unique international academic experience.
Program Structure:

Years 1–3:
Pre-clinical training based at EMU.
Focus on:-
Basic medical sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, etc.)

Ethics and communication skills

Evidence-based medicine

Special study modules for early exposure to clinical reasoning

Years 4–5:
Clinical training takes place at Marmara University in Istanbul.
Students rotate through core departments such as:-
Internal Medicine

Surgery

Pediatrics

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Psychiatry

Emergency Medicine

Year 6 (Internship Year):
Full-time clinical internship in hospitals.
Students take on active roles in patient care under close supervision, preparing them for medical licensure and residency programs.

Language Preparation:
Although instruction is in English, Turkish language training is provided during the first three years to help students communicate with patients during clinical years.
Admission Requirements:

Completion of 12-year high school education (with strong results in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Math)

English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, or EMU’s English exam)

Students not meeting English requirements will attend EMU’s English Preparatory School
